About your coach

Sam began playing tennis at the age of 8 and as a junior won multiple British and Welsh  national titles and represented Great Britain at international level.

Following a lengthy break from tennis Sam has returned to sport and is determined to use his experience to increase the numbers playing tennis and improve standards.

Sam is an LTA licensed tennis coach and holds a BA Hons degree in Sports Coaching and Exercise Science. Since taking up coaching Sam has successfully taught players who have become North Wales champions and has recently returned from the Island Games where he was coach for the Ynys Mon team who had their most successful games ever in the tennis event.

Now the head coach at Craig y Don Tennis Club he hopes to build a programme to suit all ages and standards at this fantastic club.

Keen to keep up his own playing standards Sam returned to competitive tennis and is a regular for the Craig y Don first team who came a very impressive second in their first season in the top division , he has also won back to back singles and doubles titles at the North Wales Open , last year becoming the oldest winner ever of the mens singles event at the age of 35!
